- Project Electrical Technician for Offshore Services Projects
- £34,638 per annum basic, with a realistic OTE up to £64,000 per annum including overtime/overseas uplift
- Based at our Offshore Services office in Middlesbrough, UK, with regular worldwide travel
Mammoet Offshore Services specializes in loadout and installation of large and heavy structures in marine and offshore environments. The role of an offshore services project technician involves working as part of a team to support the safe and successful setup and execution of multidisciplinary projects involving ballasting systems, winches, hydraulic jacking, skidding, and lifting equipment across various locations in the UK and internationally. Our project sites range from mining projects in Northern Canada to offshore work in the Persian Gulf and onshore fabrication yards in the Far East.
The ideal candidate will have relevant marine or industrial experience and be willing to travel and work abroad and offshore. Please note, this is a permanent position, not a temporary or contract role. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working away on project sites.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Unpacking, setup, installation, operation, and maintenance of Mammoet Offshore Services equipment, including strand jacks, hydraulic power units, ballast pumps, winches, hydraulic jacks, and weighing equipment.
- Wiring and testing electrical systems (both new and refurbished).
- Repair and fault finding of electrical systems.
- Rigging and general lifting of equipment.
- Supporting packing and unpacking of containers according to detailed packing lists.
- Completing post-operation equipment maintenance checks.
- Maintaining, preparing, and packing equipment in the Middlesbrough yard for mobilization.
- Traveling to various project sites worldwide, both onshore and offshore.
- Reporting to the Foreman, Supervisor onsite, and the personnel planner in the office.
- Understanding and working according to site and project-specific method statements, risk assessments, ITPs, and engineering drawings.
- Completing project documentation such as pre-use check sheets, maintenance records, and daily site reports.
- Ensuring all work complies with legal, company, and client safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Promoting safe working practices, PPE usage, good housekeeping, and reporting safety observations, near misses, and incidents.
- Participating in in-house training schemes for our equipment and relevant third-party courses.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential:
- Electrical City & Guilds, ONC, NVQ Level 3, or similar qualification
- Experience working with low voltage and ELV systems
- Ability to wire, test electrical systems, read schematics, troubleshoot, and fault find
- Willingness to learn operation and maintenance of Mammoet's equipment
- Willing to travel and work abroad and offshore for extended periods
- Current valid driving license
- Current valid passport without restrictions
Desirable:
- HNC or higher in electronic/electrical engineering or similar
- Experience with PLC controllers, VB6, C, and C++ programming
- Current offshore medical and survival certificate, OPITO MIST
- Industry certificates such as CPCS Slinger-Signaller, Lift Supervisor, Forklift, Telehandler, CCNSG Safety Passport, Abrasive Wheels, IPAF, Working at Height
