Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Development Engineer experienced in industrial refrigeration design to support the delivery and execution of our Industrial Refrigeration (IREF) projects. You will be part of a team across the UK, designing and supporting the installation of complex industrial refrigeration and process cooling projects.
Our building efficiency division provides products, services, and solutions that enhance energy efficiency and reduce operating costs for over a million customers worldwide. We specialize in equipment, controls, and services for HVAC, refrigeration, and security systems, serving diverse industry segments.

How you will do it
As an IREF Project Development Engineer, you will lead the technical design of process cooling solutions from concept to completion, ensuring compliance and efficiency. You will manage system design, component selection, piping, documentation, and produce compliant P&IDs and Bills of Materials. Developing customer and supplier relationships and staying current with emerging technologies are also key aspects.
You should have knowledge of relevant regulations such as BSEN 378, Pressure Equipment Directive, and DSEAR, and be familiar with safety standards and regulations like PSSR and CDM. Experience with 2D/3D design software, system types, refrigerants (especially natural refrigerants), and a relevant engineering degree are required. Membership in the Institute of Refrigeration or progress towards it is preferred. Willingness to visit customer sites is also necessary.
