Job summary

Teknek Electronics in Scotland is seeking a Project Design Engineer to manage and optimise the design documentation process, guiding concepts through to manufacturing while ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

You will own the design change process, lead FMEA activities with cross‑functional teams, and coordinate design transfers to production, aligning with ITW innovation practices and gate processes for robust product development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Product or Design Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in managing design documentation and technical compliance.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and modern CAD-based communication methodologies.
• Strong understanding of design change processes and product lifecycle management.
• Excellent analytical skills, especially in conducting and interpreting FMEA.
• Effective communicator with proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented, proactive and committed to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage release and maintenance of comprehensive design documentation for new and existing products.
• Own and streamline the design change process.
• Lead detailed FMEA for product and component failures.
• Oversee the implementation and alignment of key design processes with ITW practices.
• Lead design transfer to production engineering for manufacturing readiness.
• Maintain product Technical Files and ensure compliance with standards.
• Explore innovative 3D CAD approaches to enhance manufacturing communication.
