Job Description

As a Project Delivery Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that quality is embedded throughout the entire project lifecycle—from initial planning and procurement through to final customer delivery. Acting as the quality focal point for project teams, you will drive compliance, champion continuous improvement, and ensure that our products meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Planning: Lead quality planning throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring requirements are defined, managed, and achieved from inception to delivery.

  • Deliverable Management: Manage key quality deliverables, including control plans, inspection documentation, and comprehensive quality records.

  • Inspection & Testing: Review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and provide technical support for Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT).

  • NCR & RCA Management: Investigate non-conformances using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

  • CAPA Governance: Drive corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality, reduce process variation, and prevent recurrence.

  • Compliance: Ensure full alignment with ISO 9001 requirements, customer-specific standards, and APQP frameworks.

  • Performance Reporting: Monitor and report on key quality indicators, including first-pass yield, scrap rates, and rework costs.

  • Customer & Board Engagement: Represent the quality function in customer audits, inspections, and Material Review Board (MRB) activities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate across functions to identify and implement opportunities for operational excellence.

Essential Candidate Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Quality Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Project Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Engineering role within a complex engineering or manufacturing environment.

  • Technical Toolkit: Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and quality planning methodologies.

  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated experience managing non-conformance investigations and applying structured RCA techniques.

  • Standards: Practical familiarity with ISO 9001 and high-level quality assurance processes.

  • Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T.

  • Data-Driven: Experience using quality data to drive decision-making and process improvement.

  • Communication: Effective communicator capable of engaging confidently with customers and cross-functional project stakeholders.

  • You must hold a UK passport for Security Clearance (SC) to be considered for this role and a full UK driving licence. Please note we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

  • Industry Experience: Exposure to aerospace, defense, marine, power generation, or similar highly regulated sectors.

  • MRB & Documentation: Specific knowledge of Material Review Board (MRB) processes and experience reviewing/approving FAIRs.

  • Testing: Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).

  • Statistical Analysis: Proficiency in Minitab, SPC, or other statistical analysis tools.
