Job summary

Ovyo is seeking a Project Controller to oversee project schedules and budgets in the aerospace and defense sectors. This contract role, based in Reading, allows for three days of onsite work each week. Title: Project Controller

Responsibilities:

• Schedule Control: Maintain and update detailed project schedules using Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools, tracking milestones, dependencies, and delays.
• Budget & Cost Tracking: Support forecasting, budget monitoring, and cost control across multiple projects, reconciling resource allocations and spend against forecasts.
• Reporting & Visibility: Produce regular dashboards, variance reports, and executive summaries, contributing to PMO reporting packs using tools like Power BI and Excel.
• Risk & Issue Management: Maintain RAID logs, support mitigation planning, and chair or contribute to risk review meetings.
• Change Control: Track scope change requests and assess their impact on timelines, costs, and resources.
• Procurement Support: Assist with managing procurement timelines and documentation for suppliers and subcontractors.
• Governance Support: Collaborate with the PMO to ensure adherence to delivery governance, portfolio timelines, and quality standards.
• Tool Ownership: Serve as a superuser or key contributor to PPM tools, ensuring efficient use and adoption.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Programme Managers, Engineers, Finance, and Manufacturing teams to support cross-functional delivery.

Requirements:

• Experience: 3–7 years in a Project Controller or PMO Analyst role, ideally in aerospace, defence, or complex engineering environments.
• Skills: Strong analytical abilities, excellent stakeholder communication, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Tools: Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, MS Project, Jira, Confluence, or similar PPM tools.
• Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to adapt to hybrid delivery approaches.
• Certifications: PRINCE2, APM, P3O, or similar certifications are desirable.
• Sector Experience: Experience in space, defence, aerospace, or telecoms sectors is advantageous.
