Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Derby invites applications for a Project Controller within Test & Experimental Engineering. The role is hybrid with three days on site and full-time hours, supporting a diverse UK and global test portfolio to optimise spend and schedule.

You will assist the Project Manager with governance, reporting, risk management, and capital budgeting inputs, coordinating across sub-functions and the central PMO to align with Rolls-Royce processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in project governance and reporting for a portfolio of projects.
• Ability to manage quality, time, cost and performance accountability.
• Degree or equivalent experience; working toward APMPQ.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager to govern and report on the TEE project portfolio.
• Organise and facilitate regular drum beat meetings.
• Coordinate inputs for Capital Budget, 5YP and resource planning.
• Support delivery of key milestones and the wider portfolio.
• Coordinate and report risk across the portfolio.
• Support change-management assurance checks.
• Interface with the central Project Management Office for best practice alignment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Controller to join Test & Experimental Engineering (T&EE) in Derby. T&EE brings together our global capability across Measurement & Test Engineering, Development Engineering and the planning and execution of Experimental Test & Rig activities to optimise investment in capability and decrease the overall cost and schedule of new product development.

The role covers a diverse portfolio of projects from across our UK and global test facilities and supports a variety of workstreams including Test Capability, Infrastructure, Rigs, Retained IT and Defence.

What you will be doing:

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for

• Supporting the Project Manager to govern, manage and report on the portfolio of projects within T&EE
• Organising and facilitating the regular drum beat of meetings
• Co-ordinating the inputs from across the Group T&EE sub-functions for the Capital Budget process to support annual commitments, including 5YP and resource planning
• Supporting the delivery of the T&EE key milestones and as well as the wider portfolio of projects
• Co-ordinating and reporting on risk management across the portfolio
• Supporting and implementing assurance checks for the change management process for the portfolio
• Interfacing with the central Project Manage Office to implement best practice and ensure alignment with company management processes

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who has

• Experience of working as a Project Controller in portfolio environment
• Demonstrated significant personal accountability for Quality, Time, Cost, and performance
• Degree level qualification preferable or equivalent industry experience and member of a professional body and working towards an APMPQ qualification or equivalent
• Good communication, presentation skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and global environment
