Tetra Tech Europe in Manchester seeks a Project Bridge Engineer to contribute to the delivery, inspection and design of bridge and structural projects across the UK and Ireland. You will work on road, rail and footbridges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential requirements include an 8th honours degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, at least 4 years' experience, and working towards Chartered status; Level 9 Masters and inspection experience are advantageous.

Join a dynamic, multidisciplinary bridges team delivering innovative solutions across a diverse portfolio of transport infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to contribute to the inspection, assessment, rehabilitation and design of bridges and structures that make a lasting impact for clients and communities.
This role supports the delivery of a wide range of bridge projects across the UK and Ireland. You will contribute to bridge design packages and their successful delivery, working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The work will span all aspects of bridge engineering, including inspections, assessments, rehabilitation of existing structures, and the detailed design of new road, rail and footbridges in a variety of materials. You will work closely with internal and external multidisciplinary teams and support projects for major transport authorities, local authorities and contractors under design and build delivery.
Bridge design standards and analysis software
Strong knowledge of structural Eurocodes and UK bridge design standards (DMRB), with experience using structural analysis software for analysis, design and assessment. Midas Civil experience would be beneficial.
Bridges And Structures Design Experience
Hands-on experience in the design and assessment of bridges and civil structures, including reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel and steel composite bridges. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks under senior guidance.
Client and stakeholder engagement
Confidently represent the bridge team within multidisciplinary design teams, coordinate with other disciplines, and communicate technical matters clearly in meetings and written correspondence.
Technical reports and contract documents
Experience producing high-quality technical documentation, including technical acceptance and approval in principle documents, reports, and contract documentation for transport infrastructure and bridge rehabilitation projects.
Delivery focus and teamwork
Able to manage multiple projects, respond well to changing priorities, and contribute positively to a collaborative, client-focused team delivering complex infrastructure work.

This role is based in Manchester with hybrid working available. Regular office attendance is expected, with flexibility to balance office, home and project/site-based working as required. Travel across the UK and Ireland may be needed depending on project demands.
