The postholder at the Borthwick Institute for Archives, University of York, will work with JRCT to catalogue and repackage transferred boxes and ingest the catalogue into AtoM. You will collaborate with a team of archivists and report to the Project Board.

The role requires a postgraduate qualification in archives, knowledge of international standards and UK data protection, plus experience with archival cataloguing software and delivering large projects.

Experience with archives created by a charitable body.
Excellent attention to detail and concentration.
Experience using specialist archival cataloguing software.
Proven delivery of large and complex archival projects.

Mansioni

Create new arrangements and descriptions for uncatalogued collections.
Create relevant authority records for significant individuals, families, places, and corporate bodies following standards such as NCA Rules and ISAAR(CPF).
Prioritise metadata creation with colleagues to maximise exposure and impact.
Undertake research in primary and secondary sources to support descriptive cataloguing and authority records.
Identify areas where Data Protection legislation applies and implement measures.
Structure and import catalogue data to AtoM and disseminate to UK/European aggregators.
Update the user community and colleagues on progress and discoveries.
