Zusammenfassung

The Borthwick Institute for Archives at the University of York seeks an archivist to catalog and describe uncatalogued material from the Patrick Duncan Archive. The post involves creating records (NCA Rules, ISAAR(CPF)), researching materials, and preparing data imports into AtoM while ensuring inclusive handling of culturally sensitive content.

The role requires knowledge of international standards, UK data protection rules, and experience with large archival projects.

Qualifikationen

Recognised postgraduate qualification in archives or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of international cataloguing standards and UK Data Protection requirements.
Proven experience delivering large, complex archival arrangement and description projects.
Experience using specialist archival cataloguing software.
Excellent attention to detail and strong concentration skills.

Aufgaben

Create arrangements, descriptions, and authority records (NCA Rules, ISAAR(CPF)) for uncatalogued material, ensuring inclusive practices.
Undertake research to support descriptive cataloguing, authority records, and outreach resources.
Structure and import catalogue data into AtoM and disseminate to UK/European aggregators.
Identify Data Protection implications and implement appropriate administrative measures.
Report progress to the Project Board, colleagues, and user communities.
