Job summary

Dynamite Recruitment is seeking a Project Accountant for Portsmouth on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and management accounts, while enhancing financial processes and controls.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA/CIMA qualified with strong technical accounting and Advanced Excel skills, and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders to provide insights.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Qualified ACCA/CIMA accountant or equivalent.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A process-driven approach with a genuine interest in continuous improvement.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Comfortable working independently, taking ownership and using initiative.

Responsibilities

• Supporting accurate and timely financial reporting across the business.
• Preparing and improving management accounts, forecasting and budgeting information.
• Supporting cash flow, treasury and VAT reporting.
• Reviewing and improving financial processes and controls.
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and financial reporting.
• Supporting external audits and wider finance projects.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight.
• Supporting the implementation and improvement of finance systems and processes.

This is a varied role suited to an experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial reporting, forecasting and management accounts, alongside an interest in improving financial processes and controls.
