Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is seeking a Finance Systems & Transformation Accountant in Fareham to lead a major finance system migration and transformation project within a construction sector client. This role offers ownership from day one and close collaboration with the finance team and site-based stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have strong accounting credentials, experience with finance system implementations in ERP environments, and excellent data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified, part-qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant with strong finance and commercial experience.
• Experience of finance system implementation, migration or improvement projects, ideally within a mid-size ERP environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with confidence working with large data sets in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead a finance system migration project, including data cleansing, testing, implementation and post go-live review with finance and external providers.
• Review recommendations for system upgrades and modules to improve reporting and controls.
• Review existing platform and expand use across invoicing and asset tracking processes.
• Plan and deliver a full fixed asset audit across sites, reconcile to asset register and assist valuations.
• Investigate and implement a new stock control policy and supporting system.
• Provide documentation, training and knowledge transfer to the finance team on each project.

Job description

We\'re recruiting on behalf of a well-established business operating in the construction sector, based in Fareham, Hampshire. Having grown steadily, the business is now investing in a wide-ranging finance systems and process improvement programme, and is looking for a Finance Systems & Transformation Accountant to lead it.This is a genuinely project-focused role rather than a business-as-usual finance seat, giving the successful candidate real ownership of a defined transformation programme from day one, working closely alongside the existing finance team.

What will the Project Accountant role involve?

• Leading a finance system migration project, including data cleansing, testing, implementation and post go-live review, working closely with the finance team and external system providers
• Reviewing recommendations for system upgrades, additional modules and wider improvements to support seamless integration, stronger controls and better reporting
• Reviewing an existing operational systems platform and identifying opportunities to expand its use across processes such as invoicing and asset tracking
• Planning and delivering a full fixed asset audit across multiple sites, reconciling findings to the asset register and supporting insurance valuations
• Investigating and implementing a new stock control policy and supporting system
• Providing clear documentation, training and knowledge transfer to the finance team on completion of each project

Suitable Candidate for the Project Accountant vacancy

• Qualified, part-qualified or qualified-by-experience accountant with strong finance and commercial experience
• Proven experience of finance system implementation, migration or improvement projects, ideally within a mid-size ERP environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence working with large data sets in Excel
• A collaborative approach, comfortable working closely with finance and operational stakeholders to deliver change while maintaining strong controls
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently
• Willingness for occasional travel between sites
