Job summary

VisionFR Ltd, a healthcare-focused medical communications agency in London, is seeking a Finance Project Accountant. Hybrid role requiring office attendance in London on short notice, with remote work flexibility.

You will manage project finances, oversee revenue recognition, and provide analysis to support client services and growth. Two+ years in marketing/advertising finance, experience with Paprika, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in Marketing/Advertising preferred.
• Experience with Paprika accounting software.
• Knowledge of IFRS15 revenue recognition.
• Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Financial Project Manager to oversee revenue from projects and ensure timely billing.
• Assist with month-end close, revenue recognition and WIP analysis.
• Prepare job profitability analyses and variance reporting with Account Managers.
• Contribute to improving reporting and business efficiency across the finance team.
• Provide data management updates to the financial tracker and client estimates.

Hybrid: Mainly remote (but must be available to attend at the London Office on fairly short notice)

Salary: Circa. £38k-42k per annum

The Finance Project Accountant role is focussed on helping the client services teams manage their projects, ensuring timely billing, accurate forecasting , correct monthly revenue recognition, project analysis and more. You will need a prior understanding of this type of role and tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the Financial Project Manager to oversee £10m of fee based revenue, ensuring all projects are reconciled when complete to an audit ready standard
• Work closely with senior finance team and Account Management leads to improve recoverability and productivity across their clients and team
• Support the completion and evaluation of various reporting to improve business efficiency, making recommendations to senior finance team members
• Assist with the preparation of month end management accounts, focusing on revenue recognition and WIP
• Prepare job profitability analysis which involves regular liaison with Account Managers to understand variances from expectations, and the commercial and financial aspects of client relationships
• Support updates to the financial tracker including data management
• Work closely with Account Management to raise and check client estimates before they are sent, comparing the estimate with previous similar projects to ensure we are charging the correct amount
• Use reporting to regularly liaison with Account Managers to understand variances from expectations, and the commercial and financial aspects of client relationships
• Support Account Management team with monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc queries
• Use problem solving skills to ensure the resolution of any system or reporting challenges
• Be on hand to assist staff across the business with Paprika and process/policy queries
• Help ensure all financial transactions recorded are compliant with financial policies and procedures, highlighting any breaches to senior team.

Job Requirements and Experience

• We are recruiting for a Financial Project Accountant who has at least two years' experience within the Marketing/Advertising industry.
• Has experience with Paprika accounting software
• Good understanding of industry standards including accounting principles, particularly around revenue recognition (IFRS15)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
• Strong communication skills
• Good time management and organization
• Proactive and flexible approach, and an enthusiasm for trying new things
• Preferably finance or accounting degree and/or part qualified from a relevant professional body, ideally looking to complete their studies in due course.
