Job summary

VisionFR Limited in London is seeking a Finance Project Accountant to join the UK team. This role focuses on helping client services manage projects, ensuring timely billing, accurate forecasting and revenue recognition.

You will work with the finance team to produce project analyses, WIP reviews and profitability insights, supporting Account Management across multiple clients. Hybrid, London-based with remote work flexibility.

Qualifications

• Requires at least two years’ experience in Marketing/Advertising finance.
• Experience with Paprika accounting software.
• Solid understanding of IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
• Good time management and organization.
• Proactive and flexible approach; pursuing qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support Financial Project Manager to oversee £10m of fee based revenue and reconcile projects.
• Collaborate with senior finance team and Account Management to improve recoverability and productivity.
• Prepare month-end management accounts focusing on revenue recognition and WIP.
• Produce job profitability analyses with Account Managers to explain variances.
• Maintain and check the financial tracker data and client estimates.
• Liaise with Account Managers to ensure correct charging on new projects.

The Finance Project Accountant role is focussed on helping the client services teams manage their projects, ensuring timely billing, accurate forecasting , correct monthly revenue recognition, project analysis and more. You will need a prior understanding of this type of role and tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the Financial Project Manager to oversee £10m of fee based revenue, ensuring all projects are reconciled when complete to an audit ready standard
• Work closely with senior finance team and Account Management leads to improve recoverability and productivity across their clients and team
• Support the completion and evaluation of various reporting to improve business efficiency, making recommendations to senior finance team members
• Assist with the preparation of month end management accounts, focusing on revenue recognition and WIP
• Prepare job profitability analysis which involves regular liaison with Account Managers to understand variances from expectations, and the commercial and financial aspects of client relationships
• Support updates to the financial tracker including data management
• Work closely with Account Management to raise and check client estimates before they are sent, comparing the estimate with previous similar projects to ensure we are charging the correct amount
• Use reporting to regularly liaison with Account Managers to understand variances from expectations, and the commercial and financial aspects of client relationships
• Support Account Management team with monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc queries
• Use problem solving skills to ensure the resolution of any system or reporting challenges
• Be on hand to assist staff across the business with Paprika and process/policy queries
• Help ensure all financial transactions recorded are compliant with financial policies and procedures, highlighting any breaches to senior team.

Job Requirements and Experience

• We are recruiting for a Financial Project Accountant who has at least two years’ experience within the Marketing/Advertising industry.
• Has experience with Paprika accounting software
• Good understanding of industry standards including accounting principles, particularly around revenue recognition (IFRS15)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
• Good time management and organization
• Proactive and flexible approach, and an enthusiasm for trying new things
• Preferably finance or accounting degree and/or part qualified from a relevant professional body, ideally looking to complete their studies in due course.
