Job summary

South Thames College Group is seeking a Progress Coordinator on a fixed-term contract until the end of Academic Year 2027. The role develops and manages a high-quality, cost-effective support service for learners with disabilities, medical conditions, mental health issues, and other vulnerable needs to ensure access and achievement.

You will lead referrals, undertake needs and risk assessments, and coordinate tailored support packages while supervising a team of Learning Coaches.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of supporting learners with mental health needs, disabilities and vulnerabilities in post-16 education.
  • Experience coordinating interventions and support plans to improve attendance, retention, achievement and progression.
  • Experience leading or supervising a team and managing a varied caseload of learners with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of SEND reforms, safeguarding legislation, and inclusive learning practices.
  • Ability to undertake needs assessments and risk assessments and implement support strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage delivery of high quality, cost effective support service for learners with diverse needs.
  • Lead on development and delivery of support services for learners with disabilities, mental health issues and other vulnerable groups.
  • Manage and support a team of Learning Coaches.
  • Act as the key contact for referrals, undertake needs and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate tailored support packages and ensure appropriate interventions are in place.
  • Foster partnerships with external agencies to enhance learner experience and outcomes.
