Job summary

The Programming Assistant will support a 3-year fixed-term project delivering activities for Children & Young People across Buscot & Coleshill Estate. The role involves collaborating with the National Saturday Club to design, organise and deliver Saturday clubs and related events.

You will assist in creating engaging experiences for visitors, help young participants understand heritage and rural skills, and work to ensure events run smoothly while adhering to safeguarding policies.

• Assist in the delivery and development of a programme of activities and events for Children & Young People.
• Support the design and delivery of Saturday Clubs as part of the Buscot & Coleshill Estate partnership.
• Contribute to creating enjoyable experiences for visitors and help audiences understand more about our place.
• Participate in planning and delivering activities within the term-time Saturdays schedule.
• Engage with participants to support learning and development within safeguarding guidelines.

Job description

We’re looking for a Programming Assistant to support the delivery and development of a programme of activities for Children & Young People. This 3 year fixed-term project role, will be supporting the design and delivery of Buscot & Coleshill, Craft and Making and Society and Change Saturday Clubs, run in partnership with National Saturday Club.

This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

Contract/duration: Fixed term ending 31st August 2029

Hours/working pattern: 486 p/a, but based around 2 days per week, including term time Saturdays.

This role is fixed-term and annualised, this means that you will receive the same salary each month, but your weekly hours during the year will vary to suit the needs of the project. On average this will be around two days per week, including Saturdays.

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

You’ll assist in the delivery and development of a programme of activities and events. By doing so, you’ll help to create an enjoyable experience for everyone that visits and help them understand more about our place.

What it's like to work here

The Buscot and Coleshill Estate is formed of two villages and countryside crisscrossed with trails. These two very English villages and their surrounding patchwork quilt of fields, woodland spinney, water meadow and parkland, are just perfect for relaxing and exploring. The estate is also home to the National Trust Heritage and Rural Skills Centre, a centre to champion skills from the past, fit for the future, through a programme of events and courses. The Buscot & Coleshill Estate is also home to one of the National Trusts 19 Children & Young People Hubs, supporting 0 – 25 year olds in experiencing nature, heritage and beauty.

Working with the team you’ll create and deliver a programme of events and activities that support our Saturday Club scheme, which enables young people to experience heritage and rural skills across the estate, including understanding out nature restoration projects. Your work will be vital in bringing our places to life and linking the scheme back to our cause and the ongoing work we do.
