Job summary

Heart of Bucks in Aylesbury is seeking a part-time Funding Programmes Officer to deliver our funding programmes and ensure smooth operation of grants and loans. You will act as the team expert for fund priorities and run workshops to help groups understand the funds.

You will also set up and run funding panels and support panel meetings. The role requires strong organisation, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Analytical ability to identify gaps and gather information quickly.
  • Salesforce CRM experience is helpful but not required.

We have grown so fast over the past couple of years, awarding £2.5m in grant funding in 2024/25 alone. We are looking for someone to join our friendly Programmes team, to help us ensure that we maintain our reputation for excellent delivery of funding programmes to the VCSE sector.

The post is 15-22.5 hours per week, with some hybrid working available.

Salary: £26,226 - £31,026 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part Time - 15-22.5 hours per week

Closing date: 26 October 2026

Interviews: We expect to hold interviews in the week commencing 9 th November 2026 at our office in central Aylesbury where you would be based.

About the role

In this role you will be responsible for delivering our funding programmes, making sure our grants and loans programmes run effectively. You'll be the lead officer for a number of the funding programmes so will be our "team expert" for all things related to the priorities and operations of those funds, right through from delivering workshops to help groups understand the fund, to setting up and running any funding panels.

About you

To be effective in this role, you'll need to be able to prioritise, focus and manage a workload with multiple deadlines. Your great communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to engage with the broad range of stakeholders we work with including donors and grantees, helping them get the best out of our services. You'll need to be able to analyse information quickly, identify any gaps and seek out information to make sure our Grants Panels have the best available information to reach decisions. Strong administrative skills will be required to organise grants panel meetings effectively and to support our volunteer panel members.

Experience of Salesforce CRM would be really helpful in this role, but please don't be put off applying if you don't have all the skills we need, so long as you are willing and able to learn as you go.
