Job summary

Oldham College is seeking a Programme Tutor for Science to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring an inclusive environment for all learners including SEND. You will contribute to maintaining high standards across the curriculum and support the college’s commitment to empowering potential and achieving success.

Interviews are scheduled for Thursday 1st October, with a supportive working environment and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher with Level 5 or above.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or equivalent.
  • Relevant vocational qualification at Level 3 or above.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Plan inclusive lessons meeting needs of all learners, including SEND.
  • Monitor student progress, attendance and engagement, taking action as needed.
  • Provide clear targets and timely, constructive feedback to support achievement.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Carry out duties in line with College policies and safeguarding commitments.

As a Programme Tutor Science, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that enables students to achieve their full potential. You’ll create an inclusive and engaging environment, supporting all learners, including those with SEND, to progress and succeed. You’ll contribute to maintaining high standards across the curriculum while supporting the College’s commitment to empowering potential and achieving success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will:

  • Have a passion for teaching Science
  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment in line with curriculum requirements
  • Plan inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including SEND
  • Monitor student progress, attendance and engagement, taking action where needed
  • Provide clear targets and timely, constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement activities
  • Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or equivalent
  • Relevant vocational qualification at Level 3 or above
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant industry experience
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and support learners
