Job summary

Oldham College in Greater Manchester is seeking a committed Programme Tutor Hairdressing & Barbering to support the effective delivery of College services and priorities.

You will plan and deliver teaching, maintain course specifications and schemes of work, prepare suitable teaching materials, and ensure safeguarding and equality commitments are met while supporting learner progress and achievement.

Qualifications

  • Relevant industry experience for vocational teaching roles.
  • Experience of working with young people in a learning environment.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver teaching, learning and assessment that meets the required quality standards and supports learner progress and achievement.
  • Understanding of assessment, feedback and record keeping requirements to support quality assurance and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Set learners targets that add value and support achievement.
  • Monitor KPIs and targets within the area and contribute to their monitoring and achievement.
  • Promote and provide excellent customer service internally and externally.
  • Maintain up-to-date Programme Specifications and Schemes of Work and prepare teaching materials.
  • Carry out duties in line with College policies, safeguarding and equality commitments.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a committed Programme Tutor Hairdressing & Barbering to support the effective delivery of College services and priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will:

  • Ensure learners are set targets that add value, enable the achievement of stretching learning goals, and are provided with the necessary support to assist them in successfully completing their programmes.
  • Be aware of Key Performance Indicators and targets within the area and contribute to their monitoring regularly and achievement.
  • To promote and provide excellent customer service internally and externally in all areas of the role.
  • Have up-to-date Programme Specifications and Schemes of Work for all courses/classes taught and prepare suitable teaching materials for delivery of courses.
  • Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • relevant industry experience for vocational teaching roles.
