A leading higher education institution is seeking a part-time Programme Officer for a research programme spanning from Gloucestershire to Dorset. You will manage administrative processes and build partnerships while working with multiple educational institutions. Ideal candidates will have strong communication and organisational skills, alongside some experience in website management. We are looking to appoint a Programme Officer for the NIHR funded INSIGHT (Inspiring Students into Research) programme for the Southwest Central region, spanning from Gloucestershire to Dorset.
The purpose of the NIHR INSIGHT programme is to deliver an innovative engagement programme to attract health and care professionals into research careers and to provide Research Masters training to health and social care professionals. UWE Bristol and Bournemouth University will work with partner organisations to deliver the NIHR INSIGHT programme for the region. You’ll be a key member of the Southwest Central INSIGHT programme team, contributing to successful delivery and achievement of the programme outcomes.
You’ll contribute to effective programme management, develop and deliver administrative processes, and maintain and build partnership relationships for the delivery of the programme. This post offers a unique opportunity to work across Higher Education Institutes and with external partners for the duration of the programme. This post is part-time (15 hours per week) and available for immediate appointment.
You enjoy working with people as part of a team and will be an excellent written and verbal communicator. You will have excellent organisational and IT skills and some experience of website management and/or web-based tools. You have knowledge of effective administrative processes and project management and will be able to manage multiple workflows. You can use your initiative to manage workload and activities. Experience of working in higher education institutes and knowledge of health-related educational or research environments would be advantageous.
As the Southwest Central INSIGHT programme will be delivered by UWE Bristol and Bournemouth University, there is flexibility to be based at either UWE Bristol or Bournemouth University. You will be employed by UWE Bristol and hybrid and online working will be part of this role.
If Bristol-based, this post is based at our Glenside Campus, which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, three miles north east of Bristol City Centre.

We are hoping to hold interviews for this role in the week commencing 27 October, either online or at our Glenside Campus, Bristol.
This is a part-time, fixed-term post until 31 July 2027, working 15 hours per week. This post is not available on a job share basis.
