Job summary

Brent Giving is seeking a Programme and Community Manager to lead community engagement and programme delivery across Brent. You will support resident participation, strengthen local relationships, and coordinate participatory grantmaking activities.

Reporting to Co-Directors, you will build trust with community groups, recruit resident ambassadors, and monitor progress with impact reporting. The role is 30 hours per week, hybrid with offices in Brent, fixed-term for six months.

• Experience of community organising or engagement.
• Excellent relationship-building and facilitation skills.
• Strong knowledge of Brent’s communities and local voluntary sector.
• Experience delivering community programmes or grant-making initiatives.
• Ability to work flexibly, including attending community meetings and events.

Hours: 30 hrs per week (based on FTE at 37.5 hrs a week)
Contract: Fixed term, 6 months

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Programme and Community Manager will lead community engagement and programme delivery for Brent Giving, supporting resident participation, strengthening local relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of participatory grantmaking activities. The role will play a key part in building trust, increasing community involvement, and supporting grassroots organisations across Brent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, community groups and local leaders.
• Act as a visible and accessible representative of Brent Giving across the borough.
• Support residents to participate in funding and decision-making processes.
• Facilitate networking and collaboration between community organisations.
• Lead delivery of participatory grantmaking programmes.
• Co-ordinate recruitment, induction and support for resident ambassadors and grant panels.
• Ensure funded organisations receive appropriate support and guidance.
• Monitor programme progress and contribute to impact reporting.

Partnership Development

• Identify opportunities to strengthen community partnerships.
• Work closely with local organisations to understand community priorities and emerging needs.
• Represent Brent Giving at meetings, events and community forums.

Community Leadership

• Champion inclusive and community-led approaches to funding.
• Encourage participation from underrepresented communities.
• Support learning and continuous improvement across programmes.
