Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a School Cleaner to join our cleaning service. You will undertake team-based cleaning across designated areas, ensuring floors and surfaces are kept pristine while complying with health and safety regulations.

The role requires following COSHH guidelines, effective communication in English, and the ability to adapt to changing duties. Dress code and use of protective clothing are part of daily practice, with opportunities to cover shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as a school cleaner or cleaning staff.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and machinery.
• Awareness of Health and Safety requirements (COSHH).
• Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication in English and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean carpets, mats, and soft floor surfaces.
• Clean toilets, showers, and fixtures; wash ledges and walls.
• Empty litter bins and maintain general cleanliness.
• Follow health and safety policies and complete required paperwork.
