The Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA) is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about facilitating supervision, training and supporting the health and well being of their nursing colleagues. The aim will be for every community nurse/ district nurse covering Gwynedd and Anglesey’s community nursing services to have access to support from a PNA achieved by using a continuous quality improvement approach.
The post holder will work alongside the district nursing matrons and team leaders to lead the services strategic directives in respect of the Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA) role. This includes leading and coordinating the activities of the PNA role through facilitation of restorative clinical supervision for community nurses. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for delivering the organisation’s clinical supervision training for staff.
You will be a role model and ambassador to promote the well-being and empowerment to nursing staff and support them to deliver a high quality of patient care and quality improvement initiatives in the workplace, inspiring a culture of improved patient safety and experience outcomes for the our staff and service.
You will be a visible leader, provide assurance to the community matrons and heads of nursing that staff support, supervision and restorative clinical supervision is being delivered across community nursing services.
Main duties of the job
You will practice as a PNA by facilitating Restorative Clinical Supervision with nurses in the organisation, to support nurses to identify their own personal action for quality improvement, career development & use their understanding of personal and professional resilience to support others to develop this attribute.
The post holder will develop and foster effective working relationships across a broad range of teams, services and agencies and will ensure that the Health Boards values, views, policies and procedures are advocated and are represented at all times.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
