Job summary

SaccoMann in Birmingham invites an experienced Professional Indemnity Solicitor (5+ years’ PQE) to join a large regional practice. You will manage a varied caseload, act for insurers and professionals, and handle disputes from instruction to resolution with direct client contact.

You will draft pleadings, advise on liability and strategy, and collaborate with senior lawyers to develop business and deliver high-quality contested matters.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ PQE in Professional Indemnity, Professional Negligence or related litigation.
• Strong experience handling contentious matters from instruction to resolution.
• Good knowledge of civil procedure and case management.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and advocacy skills.
• Clear advice, client care and communication abilities.
• Well-organised with attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
• Commercial, practical approach and collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of professional indemnity and professional negligence claims.

• Draft pleadings, correspondence, witness statements and other lit documents.

• Manage deadlines, costs and case progression; build client relationships.
• Support senior colleagues on larger disputes and contribute to BD.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Professional Indemnity Solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE to join a large regional law firm in Birmingham.

The team acts for a range of professional clients and insurers on a broad range of professional negligence and indemnity disputes. The role offers the opportunity to handle interesting and complex claims, take responsibility for your own caseload and work alongside experienced litigators within a supportive team.

The Work will include:

• Drafting pleadings, correspondence, witness statements and other litigation documents.
• Conducting legal research and preparing cases for hearings.
• Negotiating settlements and attending mediations where appropriate.
• Working with experts and counsel on more complex matters.
• Managing deadlines, costs and case progression.Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Supporting senior colleagues on larger and more complex disputes.
• Contributing to business development and client relationship initiatives.

About You

We’re looking for a solicitor with:

• 5+ years’ PQE in Professional Indemnity, Professional Negligence or a closely related area of litigation.
• Strong experience handling contentious matters from instruction through to resolution.
• Good knowledge of civil litigation procedure and case management.
• Strong drafting, analytical and advocacy skills.
• The ability to assess complex factual and legal issues and provide clear advice.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage your own caseload and competing deadlines.
• A commercial and practical approach to dispute resolution.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
