Job summary

BCL Legal is seeking a Professional Indemnity Solicitor for its Manchester team, with Leeds also considered. You will handle professional indemnity, insurance disputes and related matters within a specialist liability team, managing your own caseload and supporting Partners on large disputes.

The role offers a competitive salary plus a 10% annual bonus, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, private medical and dental cover, life assurance, income protection and a strong pension.

Qualifications

• Solicitor with around 1-5 PQE.
• Background in professional indemnity, insurance litigation, property damage or a related area.
• Defendant experience preferred.
• Experience advising insurers on policy coverage would be particularly useful.
• Someone comfortable managing their own matters and keen to continue developing their expertise.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload whilst supporting Partners on larger, multi-million-pound disputes.
• Act for a varied client base across sectors including construction, accountancy, technology, healthcare and not-for-profit.
• Gain exposure to subrogated recovery work and instructions from major insurers.
• Join a specialist Professional Liability team within a well-regarded Civil Litigation practice.

I'm currently working with a leading national law firm that is looking to strengthen its Professional Liability team in Manchester, with Leeds also considered.

The team has an excellent reputation for handling complex, high-value professional indemnity and insurance disputes and is currently ranked Tier 2 in the Legal 500.

The opportunity:

• Join a specialist Professional Liability team within a well-regarded wider Civil Litigation practice
• Work across professional indemnity, property damage, public liability and D&O matters, including coverage issues
• Manage your own caseload while supporting Partners on larger, multi-million-pound disputes
• Act for a varied client base across sectors including construction, accountancy, technology, healthcare and not-for-profit
• Gain exposure to subrogated recovery work and instructions from major insurers
• Genuine scope for progression and development within a growing team
