Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead on complex, high-value and multi-party construction PI claims.

Professional Indemnity Associate / Senior Associate - Birmingham - up to £95,000

A leading national law firm is seeking an ambitious Professional Indemnity Senior Associate to join its specialist Professional Indemnity team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to handle complex, high-value professional liability claims on behalf of insurer clients, including multi-party construction disputes involving a wide range of construction professionals.

As a Professional Indemnity Senior Associate, you will work on technically challenging construction claims, with a particular focus on high-value, multi-party disputes. The team acts for a broad range of construction professionals, including architects, consulting engineers, building surveyors, quantity surveyors, project managers and design and build contractors. The role will also involve supervising and training junior team members on lower-value claims, alongside contributing to business development initiatives and strengthening relationships with new and existing clients.

The Role

• Leading on complex, high-value and multi-party construction professional indemnity claims
• Managing claims on behalf of insurer clients involving a broad range of construction professionals
• Advising on liability, quantum, evidence and litigation strategy throughout the claims process

The Candidate

• Qualified Solicitor with experience appropriate Senior Associate level
• Proven experience handling professional liability, professional indemnity or construction-related litigation claims
• Strong technical knowledge of construction disputes and professional negligence matters
• Experience managing complex claims, ideally involving high-value and multi-party disputes
• Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills
• For Senior Associate applicants, experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior colleagues
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
• A proactive approach to business development and building lasting client relationships
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
