Job Description:

CooperVision, a leading manufacturer of soft contact lenses with a presence in over 100 countries, is seeking a Professional Affairs Manager - Medical (EMEA) to enhance our scientific presence and capabilities in the region. The role involves developing clinical affairs activities, managing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), ensuring compliance of marketing materials, and supporting thought leadership within the scientific community.

The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and experience in optometry or ophthalmology, along with expertise in medical writing and peer-reviewed content. They should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, managing stakeholders at various levels.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead KOL development programs to foster relationships with new and existing advocates and early adopters.
  • Review and ensure compliance of marketing and professional affairs content.
  • Support local teams in understanding professional affairs protocols.
  • Collaborate with the myopia team and global medical affairs to promote scientific credibility and oversee conference abstracts.
  • Contribute to the creation of scientific presentations and develop medical writing skills within regional teams.
  • Coordinate market research activities, ensuring ethical standards and supporting the development of marketing claims.
  • Develop new marketing claims based on research and published studies.
  • Work with global teams to communicate scientific messaging effectively, navigating legal and regulatory considerations.
  • Summarize peer-reviewed articles and present at international events.
  • Challenge unsubstantiated claims and contribute to scientific publications and trade articles.
  • Participate proactively in annual planning processes.
Experience:
  • At least 7 years of experience in optometry or ophthalmology.
  • Proficiency in medical writing and peer-reviewed publishing.
  • Experience in compliance and quality assurance review.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training and presentations to diverse audiences.
