Job summary

Atkore is seeking a production welder for the Unistrut range in West Bromwich. The role covers welding, setting up equipment, reading 2D drawings, and maintaining quality and production records.

You will work to ensure safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement while following 5S in the work area. Join a team focused on meeting achievable targets within 39 hours per week on rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of Production Mig Welding.
• Able to weld various metals including mild steel and pre-galvanised.
• Able to work as part of a team and as an individual.
• Motivation to beat targets safely and to required quality standards.
• Ability to comply with and promote Atkore’s ATIRE and SQDC values.

Responsibilities

• Welding our Unistrut range using Mig welders.
• Set up welding and supporting equipment.
• Be able to read 2D drawings.
• Produce parts at the correct rate and report any issues with achieving that rate.
• Take responsibility for the quality of the parts produced.
• Keep production and quality related records up to date.
• Ensure good levels of 5S are maintained in the area.
• Be involved in continuous improvement processes driving through improvements in all aspects of the role.
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Who we are looking for:

Unistrut is looking for an experienced production welder to support our continued growth.

What you’ll do:

• Welding our Unistrut range using Mig welders
• Set up welding and supporting equipment
• Be able to read 2D drawings
• Produce parts at the correct rate and report any issues with achieving that rate

Hours of work:

39 hours per week, working a rotating shift pattern:
Week 1: Monday - Thursday 6am - 2pm & Friday 6am - 1pm
Week 2: Monday - Thursday 2pm -10pm & Friday 1pm - 8pm

Salary:

£13.25 per hour plus 22% shift allowance for rotating shifts
