Job summary

Trevor Bolton Engineering Services Limited is hiring a Production Welder in Lancashire. The role focuses on MIG welding with TIG as a plus, and finishing parts to high-quality standards for powder coat finishes.

The position offers day and night shifts with a 33% higher rate for nights (4x12 Mon-Thur) and a £2,000 signing bonus. Applicants should have MIG welding experience and the ability to read technical drawings. On-site parking is available.

Qualifications

• Must be able to interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of materials and their weld characteristics.
• Understanding of weld safety standards.
• Experience with weld inspection processes.
• Able to use measuring tools (tapes, calipers, squares).
• Fluent in English, both reading and writing.

Responsibilities

• Weld parts as per job sheets/drawings.
• Maintain high-quality finish within set times.
• Report discrepancies to line supervisor.
• Dress and finish parts to required standard.
• Inspect work against drawings and clarify doubts with supervisor.
• Ensure correct quantities and safe work practices.
• Wear PPE and operate welding tools safely.
• Work overtime when required and attend shifts on time.

Production Welder

Pay: £13.75-£21.51 per hour

£2,000 Signing Bonus

Production Welder Job Summary:

The role entails MIG welding and dressing at a level of quality suitable for high end powder coat finishing. TIG skills are advantageous. 33% additional rate for nights - 4x12 Mon-Thur.

Production Welder Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Ensure jobs are welded as required by the job sheet/drawings.
• Work within the determined times provided whilst ensuring a high-quality finish is maintained.
• Reporting any discrepancies to line supervisor.
• Dress/finish off parts to the standard required for each job - selecting the correct tools and abrasive pads.
• Inspect work-to drawings, be vigilant on quality and always query any doubts with your supervisor.
• Ensure quantities are adhered to and take care with product counts.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and the safe operation of welding machines and tools.
• Always wear supplied and appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Work a reasonable amount of overtime when requested.
• Attend work on the shift times established by the employer and without excessive absenteeism or lateness.
• Arrive and be ready to work at the time your shift starts.

• Ability to demonstrate the proper application of common welding processes.
