Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd is recruiting for an experienced MIG/TIG Welder to join a growing manufacturing team in Daventry. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with an early finish every Friday, in a clean, modern workshop.

You will weld high-quality components, read engineering drawings, and work to tight standards with ongoing training and development. You'll join a supportive team in a company that values its workforce, with parking on-site, a pension, and regular social events.

Qualifications

• MIG and/or TIG welding experience on relevant materials.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Weld using MIG and/or TIG processes on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• Set welding equipment and select appropriate consumables.
• Fabrication duties including cutting, grinding, fitting and tack welding.
• Inspect finished welds to ensure quality standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet production targets.

The Company

The Role

As a MIG / TIG Welder, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality welded components from engineering drawings, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Your duties will include:

• MIG and/or TIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and weld symbols
• Setting welding equipment and selecting appropriate consumables
• Fabrication duties including cutting, grinding, fitting, and tack welding
• Inspecting finished welds to ensure quality standards are met
• Maintaining a safe and organised work area
• Working closely with colleagues to achieve production targets

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous MIG and/or TIG welding experience
• Can confidently read and work from engineering drawings
• Has experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• Takes pride in producing quality work
• Has a positive attitude and strong attention to detail
