Job summary

Reed Engineering & Manufacturing in the United Kingdom is recruiting an experienced Production Transition Manager to lead readiness for new product introductions and manufacturing improvements.

You will work across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, HSE, NPI and Supply Chain to ensure safety, quality, delivery and productivity objectives are met. A strong track record in regulated sectors and proficiency with Excel, MS Project and Power BI is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Manufacturing/Operations/NPI/PM or Production Readiness.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects in manufacturing settings.
• Strong stakeholder management, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in regulated industries (aerospace, defence, nuclear, metals).
• Proficient with Excel, MS Project and Power BI; PM tools experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead production readiness activities for new product introductions and improvement projects.
• Develop and manage launch plans with milestones and operational requirements.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure readiness across manufacturing.
• Drive PFMEA, control plans, and launch risk assessments.
• Ensure SOPs, training materials, work instructions and safety documentation are in place prior to implementation.
• Support ramp-up activities and resolve start-up issues through structured problem-solving.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, customer and regulatory requirements.

Production Transition Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful launch of new products, processes, and manufacturing improvements. Working across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, HSE, NPI, and Supply Chain, you will ensure production activities are fully prepared to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead production readiness activities for new product introductions and manufacturing improvement projects.
• Develop and manage launch plans, ensuring milestones and operational requirements are achieved.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing and operational readiness.
• Drive risk mitigation activities including PFMEA, control plans, and launch risk assessments.
• Ensure SOPs, training materials, work instructions, and safety documentation are in place prior to implementation.
• Support production ramp-up activities and resolve start-up issues through structured problem-solving.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, customer, and regulatory requirements.

About You

• Previous experience in Manufacturing, Operations, NPI, Programme Management, Project Management, or Production Readiness.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong stakeholder management, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working within engineering, aerospace, defence, nuclear, metals, or other highly regulated industries.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, MS Project, Power BI, and project management tools.
