Job summary

HRGO Recruitment are recruiting for a skilled TIG welder based in Eye, Suffolk. The role focuses on high-precision welding and fabrication from CAD drawings to produce accurate components for a specialist medical equipment manufacturer.

You will weld stainless steel and other materials, interpret technical drawings, and maintain strict quality standards in a stable, long-term production environment. A four-day week and steady hours support good work-life balance.

• Strong TIG welding experience on stainless steel and thin gauge down to 1mm.
• Able to read and work confidently from CAD/technical drawings.
• High attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• TIG weld on stainless steel, mild steel and other materials.
• Read from CAD drawings, fabrication drawings and job specs.
• Maintain high quality and dimensional accuracy of finished parts.
• Check finish and accuracy of components before release.
• Support team output and continuous improvement efforts.

Job description

Salary: GBP17 - GBP17.5 per hour

• Pay: £17.00–£17.50 per hour (depending on experience)
• Location: Eye, Suffolk area (own transport recommended due to rural location)
• Hours: 38 hours per week | 7:00am–5:00pm
• Working pattern: 4-day week (Monday–Thursday)
• Overtime: Time and a Third
• Permanent

The role:

You’ll be responsible for high-quality TIG welding and fabrication work, producing precision components from CAD drawings and technical specifications. This is a hands-on production role focused on accuracy, finish, and consistent output.

Key responsibilities:

• TIG welding on stainless steel, mild steel and other materials
• Working from CAD drawings, fabrication drawings and job specifications
• Maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
• Checking work for finish and dimensional accuracy
• Supporting team output and continuous improvement

What we’re looking for - Essential:

• Strong TIG welding experience, including thin gauge down to 1mm
• Experience welding stainless steel (and ideally mild steel)
• Able to read and work confidently from CAD/technical drawings
• High attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
• Reliable, team-focused attitude
• MIG welding experience (we are also recruiting for a MIG Welder roles)
