Production Test Engineer - Aerospace & Defence

Our client, a large Aerospace and Defence supplier, is seeking a Production Test Engineer for a 12-month initial contract at their site in Bolton.

Important Information

• Applicants must be sole British nationals and willing to obtain SC Clearance.
• Contract duration: 12 months, fully onsite in Bolton.
• Pay: £37 per hour (Umbrella, inside IR35) plus up to £400 per week in accommodation allowances.

Role Responsibilities

• Production testing and diagnostics of complex weapons at system and subsystem levels.
• Testing of electronic & electrical equipment and diagnosing production test failures down to component level, with timely corrective actions.
• Assessing Test Equipment issues and coordinating support to resolve failures.
• Evaluating technical problems and developing proposals for investigations and process improvements.
• Representing Test Engineering at Defect Review Board meetings to facilitate efficient progress and corrective actions.

Role Requirements

• HNC/HND in Electronics or equivalent, with experience in digital & analogue electronics manufacture and testing.
• Understanding of measurement and test principles and equipment.
• Knowledge of RF and microwave technology at subsystem level is advantageous.
• Understanding of Environmental testing, including ESS, is advantageous.
• Good planning, organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Manual handling and ESD training.
