Job Description
We currently have a vacancy for a Production Engineering Technician to work within the Production Engineering team, working on New, Current and Special products. The position offers a varied and interesting variety of work including: New Product integration, Production support, inspection, jig and tooling design, process improvements and assembly operation documentation.
Responsibilities
Provide support and input as part of the Production Engineering team during the New Product Development cycle
Provide support to the product assembly
Tooling, jig and fixture design for Production.
Identification and instigation of process improvement activities
Inspection of non-conforming product.
Generation of clear instructions to enable assembly
Key requirements
Education: HNC (or equivalent) or time served apprenticeship
Self-motivated and proactive.
Experience of Production techniques and best practice
Ability to work from engineering drawings, design notes and CAD models
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
This vacancy sits within our Spectroscopy Products Division which is a market leader in Raman Spectroscopy, providing high end spectrometers and laser products to a worldwide market.
Person specification
As the successful applicant you will be a well organised and self-motivated individual, you will have an appreciation of Production and assembly techniques and show the ability to communicate with personnel at all levels. You will need to be adaptable and show a willingness und understanding to problem solve issues that may arise and come to a timely resolution, calling in various disciplines where required.
