Job summary

IQE PLC in Cardiff is seeking a Production Technician to support epitaxial material production through strict process monitoring, quality adherence and safe, efficient operation.

Key responsibilities include cleanroom work, following SOPs and record-keeping, safe handling of chemicals with PPE, and assisting engineers with data collection to meet daily targets and production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support epitaxial production in a cleanroom environment per procedures.
• Adhere to SOPs, work instructions and maintain required records.
• Handle chemicals safely according to guidelines and PPE requirements.
• Assist Process Engineers with data collection as directed by the Production Supervisor.
• Execute production runs, calibrations and routine checks to meet targets.

About the role

The Production Technician role is required to support the production of epitaxial materials through monitoring control of the manufacturing process.This role includes following strict procedures, maintaining quality standards and ensuring production goals are met safely and efficiently.

Main responsibilities

• Work mainly in a cleanroom environment, following all required protocols and procedures.
• Comply with all company policies, SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), Work Instructions, and record keeping requirements.
• Have clear understanding of chemicals and substances in the workplace and follow strict guidance for handling of such substances, which could include PPE requirements.
• Adhere to the competency management process, completing assigned tasks, training and approvals in a timely manner.
• Learns and develops an understandingof the following:
  • Basic vacuum systems and epitaxial deposition.
  • All process related checks on epitaxial systems.
  • Execution of production runs, calibrations and other activities as required by the daily production schedule to meet targets and objectives.
  • Use of chemicals and substances in the workplace related to the Production requirements, following strict guidance for safe handling and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Monitoringthe epitaxial growth process through the review of statistical process control (SPC), system monitoring, material inspection, and all in-line metrology (ILM) measurements.
  • How to follow the production process and associated Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs).
  • Area applications, software, Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
• Develop an understanding of manufacturing specifications.
• Provide support to Process Engineers via data collection per written instructions or as directed by the Production Supervisor.

• Experience working in a cleanroom environment is desirable
• Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or an engineering environment is desirable.
