Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a PVC recycling operation focused on safe, efficient and sustainable manufacturing. In this hands-on leadership role the Production Supervisor will manage Shift Team Leaders, drive continuous improvement and support the Production Manager across safety, quality, productivity, cost and environmental priorities.

Working closely with Engineering and Maintenance, the Production Supervisor will drive equipment reliability and data-led performance

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in manufacturing or recycling.
• Strong HSE knowledge and ISO standards.
• Proven ability to improve KPIs using Lean/TPM.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Experience with data-led manufacturing improvements.

Responsibilities

Production Supervisor

Lead a PVC recycling operation where safety, operational excellence and sustainability matter. This role suits a manufacturing, recycling or process-industry leader with strong people management, HSE knowledge and continuous improvement expertise.

SALARY: £19.14 per Hour plus £3.83 per Hour Leadership Allowance + Benefits

LOCATION: Runcorn, Cheshire, North West England

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 14:00 Friday (30-minute unpaid lunch), 37.5 hours per week

JOB OVERVIEW

This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Supervisor to lead a purpose-driven recycling operation focused on safe, efficient and sustainable manufacturing.

In this hands‑on leadership role the Production Supervisor will manage Shift Team Leaders, strengthen operational performance and support the Production Manager across safety, quality, productivity, cost and environmental priorities.

Working closely with Engineering and Maintenance, the Production Supervisor will drive continuous improvement, equipment reliability, team capability and data‑led performance.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Production Supervisor include:

• Safety and Compliance: Lead a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements
• Production Performance: Manage Shift Team Leaders to deliver throughput, yield, quality, OEE and cost targets
• Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean, TPM, Root Cause Analysis and data‑led improvement activity
• People Development: Coach and develop teams through performance management, succession planning and employee engagement
• Quality and Standards: Ensure products meet customer, quality and regulatory requirements while promoting SOPs and best practice
• Engineering and Maintenance: Work with Engineering and Maintenance to maximise equipment reliability, asset performance and plant availability
• Reporting and Leadership: Lead operational reporting, performance reviews and improvement actions, deputising for the Production Manager when required
• Sustainability and Efficiency: Support waste reduction, energy efficiency and resource optimisation while monitoring environmental performance

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• Previous leadership experience within manufacturing, recycling or a process industry
• Proven people management and team development skills
• Strong HSE knowledge and an operational excellence mindset
• Experience improving KPIs through Lean, TPM and continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong analytical, communication, coaching and problem‑solving skills

DESIRABLE

• Experience within plastics, polymer processing or recycling
• Lean, Six Sigma, IOSH or NEBOSH qualification, or equivalent
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, TPM and Asset Care
