Job summary

Recruit4Talent Ltd in Runcorn is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations at a plastics recycling site. The role focuses on safety, quality, productivity and environmental objectives while supporting the Production Manager.

Key duties include coaching Shift Team Leaders, driving Lean/TPM initiatives, and delivering KPI improvements across throughput, yield and OEE in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing leadership experience in recycling or process industries.
• Proven ability to improve KPIs via Lean, TPM and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE standards and ISO 45001/ISO 14001.
• Direct Shift Team Leaders to meet throughput, yield, quality, OEE and cost targets.
• Drive continuous improvement through data-driven methods and RCA.
• Develop team capability through coaching, performance reviews and succession planning.
• Collaborate with Engineering/Maintenance to maximise asset reliability and plant availability.
• Provide operational reporting, performance reviews and improvement actions.

Job description

Production Supervisor sought by a recycling facility in Runcorn. This subsidiary of an international, £multibillion turnover plastics manufacturer is focused on growing the circular economy and they see innovation within PVC recycling as pivotal to their global sustainability strategy.

Your Role as Production Supervisor:

As Production Supervisor, you will lead the operation to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient production performance. You will manage Shift Team Leaders, drive operational excellence and continuous improvement, and ensure achievement of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and environmental objectives while supporting the Production Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements
• Manage Shift Team Leaders to deliver production targets for throughput, yield, quality, OEE, and cost performance
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean, TPM, Root Cause Analysis, and data-driven decision making
• Develop team capability through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement
• Ensure products meet customer, quality, and regulatory requirements while promoting adherence to SOPs and best practicesWork with Engineering and Maintenance to maximise equipment reliability, asset performance, and plant availability
• Lead operational reporting, performance reviews, and improvement actions, deputising for the Production Manager when required
• Support sustainability goals through waste reduction, energy efficiency, and resource optimisation

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Manufacturing, recycling, or process industry leadership experience
• Proven people management and team development skills
• Strong HSE knowledge and operational excellence mindset
• Experience improving KPIs through Lean, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong analytical, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Experience in plastics, polymer processing, or recycling
• Lean, Six Sigma, IOSH, or NEBOSH qualifications
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, TPM, and Asset Carex

Production Supervisor Benefits:

• £19.14 per hour base rate
• £3.83 per hour (20%) Leadership Allowance
• 37.5 Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8am - 4.30pm, 8am-2pm Friday
