Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment Agency is looking for a Production Supervisor to oversee order planning, materials sourcing and freight management, ensuring on-time delivery of finished products for a growing international operation.

The role combines production, procurement, supply chain and logistics with clear opportunities to take on additional responsibility as the business scales, supported by full training and exposure to global customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Background in production, procurement, supply chain or operations coordination (training provided)
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Confident communication and supplier relationship management
• Practical, hands-on problem solving with good attention to detail
• Good Excel and IT skills, ideally with ERP/MRP experience and export documentation knowledge
• Technical aptitude and comfort with manufacturing or logistics equipment

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of order planning, reviewing upcoming orders and securing materials and components through the MRP system
• Driving purchasing, raising purchase orders, sourcing new components and comparing supplier quotations
• Managing UK and international freight, from quotations and shipments through to export paperwork
• Ensuring finished products are built, tested and programmed to the required quality standard before dispatch
• Monitoring stock levels and leading replenishment and stock takes
• Identifying recurring issues and driving improvements to processes and efficiency

Job description

As Production Supervisor, you'll decide what's needed, secure it and get finished orders out of the door on time. The business is scaling internationally, and the scope of this role is set to grow with it.

As a Production Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of order planning, reviewing upcoming orders and securing materials and components through the MRP system
• Driving purchasing, raising purchase orders, sourcing new components and comparing supplier quotations
• Managing UK and international freight, from quotations and shipments through to export paperwork
• Ensuring finished products are built, tested and programmed to the required quality standard before dispatch
• Monitoring stock levels and leading replenishment and stock takes
• Identifying recurring issues and driving improvements to processes and efficiency

As a Production Supervisor, your experience will include:

• Background in production, procurement, supply chain or operations coordination (desirable, as training is given)
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Confident communication and supplier relationship management
• A sharp eye for accuracy, with a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving
• Good Excel and IT skills, ideally with ERP/MRP experience and knowledge of export documentation
• Technical aptitude and confidence working with equipment, ideally gained in manufacturing or logistics
