Head of People and Talent at OpenWorks Engineering

Location: Prudhoe (near Newcastle upon Tyne)

Working arrangement: Full time (37.5 hours per week) with the option of overtime available. 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday on-site

Offer package: £12.21 per hour (which is £23,809.50 per year and negotiable depending on relevant experience), bonus, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, private healthcare, free breakfast and freshly cooked lunch from our on-site chef and team, 4% pension match and more (see below!)

Are you organised, proactive and looking to make a hands-on impact in a fast-paced innovative environment? We’re on the lookout for an Production Stores Administrator / Stock Controller with experience of working in manufacturing or production to support our teams by keeping the flow of components moving smoothly from goods in to goods out.

In this varied and essential role, you’ll handle stock checking, basic inspections and ensure everything needed for assembly is picked and ready to go. You’ll also take care of packaging and dispatch while keeping our systems updated and our shelves well-stocked.

OpenWorks Engineering develop CUAS, Air Defence and Optical Surveillance, Sensing and Tracking Technology for Defence and Security.

We’ve developed an award winning and innovative drone capture and autonomous optical detection and tracking technology. The systems offer the capability to protect high profile assets, facilities, the public and VIPs from the threats posed by Aerial threats.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Goods in stock processing
  • Basic level goods inspection
  • Checking stock levels
  • Re-ordering basic components
  • Picking components ready for assembly
  • Goods-out: packaging and admin

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Good computer literacy (must have familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise workload
  • Proactive mindset
  • Strong team player, comfortable in a small, close-knit team and setting
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A willing to work additional paid hours where needed
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
