ATA Recruitment Ltd in Kirton, Nottinghamshire is seeking a Production Shift Manager to lead a ~15-strong operator team on a 4-on 4-off schedule, covering days and nights. You will drive safety, quality and productivity while staying visible, approachable and hands-on.

You will coach and develop staff, set clear performance expectations, manage output against KPIs and collaborate with other departments; you’ll also act as site lead during nights and weekends.

ATA Recruitment are working with a major manufacturing group with a 35% market share, £300m+ turnover and over 2,000 employees across the UK.

The Kirton site is an established, high-volume operation producing almost 100 million units every year, supplying some of the UK's most recognisable construction brands.

They're now looking for a Production Shift Manager to lead a team of around 15 operators.

About the role

This is a people-first leadership role.

The site is established and performing at a high level, but there are challenges around culture, engagement, accountability and consistency. Your job will be to bring the team with you, raise standards and create an environment where people want to perform.

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading, coaching and developing a team of around 15 operators
• Building strong relationships and creating a positive team culture
• Setting clear expectations around performance, behaviour and safety
• Managing production against output, yield, waste and safety KPIs
• Leading production meetings and shift handovers
• Addressing performance and behavioural issues when required
• Supporting training and development across the team
• Working closely with other departments to resolve issues
• Acting as site lead during nights and weekends

This isn't a role where you'll simply manage numbers from an office. You'll need to be visible, approachable and willing to get stuck in.

About you

We're looking for an experienced production leader who genuinely enjoys developing people.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Production Manager, Shift Manager, Production Shift Manager, Production Supervisor or similar
• Strong people-management and leadership skills
• Experience managing production teams and KPIs
• The confidence to challenge poor performance and behaviours
• Excellent communication skills
• A resilient, practical approach to problem solving
• IOSH Managing Safely - desirable
• ILM or similar - desirable
• Most importantly, you're someone who puts people first without compromising on standards or accountability.
