Production/Quality Team Lead – London - £55,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Extra Benefits - Permanent

Primary Purpose:

Our client is seeking an experienced Team Leader or Supervisor with a strong background in Production within a highly regulated engineering environment. The role involves leading a team of Quality Inspectors, ensuring compliance with industry standards, fostering a quality-focused culture, overseeing inspection processes, implementing risk-based methodologies, and managing non-conformance reports. Responsibilities also include people management, training, performance evaluation, and ensuring a safe and efficient workplace.

Core Hours: 42 hours per week, starting at 07:00. Flexible options to split hours across 4 or 5 days (Monday to Friday).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Manage the Quality Inspection Team: Oversee inspectors, allocate resources, and maintain high performance standards.
  • Implement Risk-Based Inspection Methodology: Use 100% inspection for high-risk items and sampling for low-risk items.
  • Oversee Non-Conformance Reporting: Identify and report non-conforming products using JIRA ITS, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Drive a Strong Quality Culture: Set inspection standards, promote adherence to specifications, and maintain a zero-defect mindset.
  • Manage People and Performance: Conduct training, development, and employee relations, fostering a supportive environment.
  • Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Lead quality improvement projects and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with Manufacturing, Stores, Engineering, HR, and Supplier Quality teams to ensure inspection efficiency and integrity.
