Job summary

Randstad Business Support is seeking a Production Planner to oversee SKU production planning across designated manufacturing assets in Birmingham. The role covers mid- and long-term planning to finite scheduling, coordinating with demand teams, suppliers, and plant operations to ensure smooth information flow.

The ideal candidate has FMCG/CPG experience, exposure to IBP/S&OP, and a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams while driving data-driven improvements in planning, KPI

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG/CPG environment, preferably food or other fast-moving, dynamic industry where shelf life is a constraint.
• Experience in an IBP/S&OP environment.
• Able to influence cross-functional teams and improve the plan.

Responsibilities

• Develop short- and long-term end-to-end supply chain plans for items produced internally and externally.
• Meet KPIs such as customer fill rate, finished goods inventories at or below target levels, and waste objectives.
• Perform root-cause analysis for continuous improvement of the plan.
• Maintain the integrity of system data and information for supply planning.
• Deliver master and detailed schedules and long-range plans (including capacity considerations) and material requirement plans using system tools.
• Support and implement improvements in planning to improve customer fill rate, inventory targets, and waste reduction.

The role

In this position, you will oversee SKU production planning across designated manufacturing assets, covering everything from mid and long-term planning to finite scheduling. Serving as a key hub for operational execution, you will collaborate closely with demand teams, suppliers, and plant operations to maintain seamless information flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop short- and long-term end-to-end supply chain plans for items produced internally and externally.
• Meet your KPIs including (but not limited to) meeting or exceeding customer fill rate, delivering finished goods inventories at or below target levels and meeting waste objectives.
• Perform root-cause analysis for continuous improvement of the plan.
• Maintain the integrity of system data and information for supply planning.
• Deliver master and detailed schedules and long-range plans (including capacity considerations) and material requirement plans by using system tools.
• Support and implement improvements in the planning arena to improve customer fill rate, inventory targets, and waste reduction to meet company KPIs.
