Job summary

BAE Systems in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Production Planner to convert customer requirements into production tasks and create a deliverable schedule. You will determine hours, materials and services, coordinating preparation for timely delivery across departments, using ERP systems and MS Excel.

Responsibilities include maintaining project schedules, cost awareness, pre-production checks and mentoring apprentices, with travel to shipyards as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5 years refit/installation/repair or planning experience in a shipyard.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and customer requirements.
  • Proficient with Excel/Access and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of ship repair production processes and safety practices.
  • Strong document control and ITAR awareness.
  • Willingness to travel for ship visits in UK and abroad.

Responsibilities

  • Convert customer requirements into production tasks and schedule.
  • Determine hours, materials and services for each task.
  • Coordinate preparation for delivery using business systems.
  • Ensure work packages meet timescales and quality checks.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Scheduling and other departments.
  • Deputise for Senior Production Planner and assist project/bid meetings.
  • Coach new starters/apprentices.
