Job summary

DTC | A Codan Company is a technology company based in Whiteley, Hampshire. The Production Planner will manage procurement, manufacturing and delivery across lifecycle stages, and plan internal manufacturing taking into account material availability and capacity.

The role includes inventory forecasting, SIOP, and maintaining ERP/MRP data. It requires UK Security Clearance and offers an office-based, full-time position with a multinational team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of planning or similar experience.
• Demonstrable planning skills and experience.
• Demonstrable experience of project management.
• Good people skills and intercompany communication is a must.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Experience with MS Dynamics or similar ERP/MRP system is essential.
• Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills for detailed presentations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process.
• Respond to and resolve MRP messages.
• Schedule new requirements in Production based on material and capacity.
• Develop a clear production plan and handover to Operations Leaders.
• Maintain ERP data to enable effective system use across the business.
• Manage product lifecycle transitions in ERP, demand planning and SIOP.
• Review regional demand to align with business strategy and forecast.

What will you be doing?

The Production Planner is responsible for managing the business’ ability to procure, manufacture and deliver products during all stages of the lifecycle: development, maturity, and withdrawal.
They also undertake the planning and scheduling of internal manufacturing operations in accordance with customer requirements, the needs of the business, availability of material and production capacity.
The role includes responsibility for inventory planning and inventory forecasting through modelling, configuring the business planning tool in accordance with the defined strategy for products, component parts and for generating production capacity data, ensuring that any over or under capacity forecasts are highlighted and resolved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering the business’ Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process
• Respond appropriately and resolve MRP messages
• Schedule new requirements in Production, dependent on the availability of material and capacity
• Prepare and handover a clear plan to the leaders and members of the Operations Management team. Overseeing adherence to the plan, maximising Customer-On-Time-To-Promise
• Updating and maintaining accurate ERP data to facilitate effective use of the system throughout the business
• Manage the transition of products through product development, core, extended range, and withdrawal phases of the lifecycle as relevant to ERP, demand planning, and SIOP
• Understand and manage inventory commitments in the supply chain and stocking levels as they relate to products and demand
• Review demand by geographic region or other categorisation to provide support to stakeholders and enable alignment with business strategies
• Collaborate with the Senior Planner, Sales, Business unit Leaders and Operations Management in the development of a consensus on demand forecast and a balanced production plan.
• Ensure effective monthly demand plan is in place to identify and resolve significant and/or critical supply-demand imbalances
• 3 or more years’ experience is desirable in a planning or similar role.
• Demonstrable planning skills and experience
• Demonstrable experience of project management
• Ability to assess documents to identify customer requirements and transpose the requirements into a production schedule
• Demonstrable history of improving performance against challenging targets
• Good people skills and a good communicator, intercompany communication is a must.
• Fully conversant with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Outlook).
• Must be flexible and accommodating to last minute changes to support business and customer needs.
• Experience of MS Dynamics or of a similar ERP/MRP system is essential
• Experience of MS Office applications including advanced level PowerPoint skills to create detailed presentations, and advanced level Excel skills
• Good numeracy skills & good written & verbal communications skills
• Understanding of software tools required for their discipline including DAX or a similar ERP/MRP system and Salesforce
• This is a full-time office-based position and will require the successful candidate to meet the criteria for UK Security Clearance.
