Production Planner

Location: Tewkesbury

Rate: £30,000 - £40,000

Working Hours: 8:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 8:00 to 13:00 Friday

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Planner to join an established manufacturing business in Tewkesbury. The Production Planner will utilize the company’s ERP/MRP systems (SAGE 200/Preactor) to ensure efficient shop floor loading and OTIF customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure machines are loaded efficiently, maintaining customer delivery dates.
  2. Maintain daily tracking of all live work orders.
  3. Produce monthly/weekly forward loading schedules for each machine, including manual operations.
  4. Ensure parts are moved to next processes promptly.
  5. Allocate subcontract order requirements for purchasing in a timely manner.
  6. Keep Bill of Materials (BOM) up to date, with accurate set and cycle times.
  7. Maintain accurate stock levels of raw materials and finished goods, issuing them correctly to works orders.
  8. Implement continuous improvement strategies where opportunities are identified.
  9. Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO 13485).
  10. Identify and troubleshoot production bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
  11. Monitor and report on KPIs and production performance.
  12. Recommend methods or process improvements to enhance product quality.
  13. Prioritize workflow to meet monthly order completion and sales targets.
  14. Raise purchase requisitions for subcontract operations.
  15. Complete administrative tasks within SAGE200/Preactor.
  16. Coordinate with other departments and handle requests for information and data.
Experience Required:
  1. Proven experience as a Production Planner in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (Essential).
  2. Experience with lean manufacturing and process optimisation (Desirable).
  3. Hands-on problem-solving skills focused on efficiency and quality control.
  4. Excellent computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  5. SAGE 200 experience desirable, but training will be provided.
