Production Planner
Location: Tewkesbury
Rate: £30,000 - £40,000
Working Hours: 8:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 8:00 to 13:00 Friday
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Planner to join an established manufacturing business in Tewkesbury. The Production Planner will utilize the company’s ERP/MRP systems (SAGE 200/Preactor) to ensure efficient shop floor loading and OTIF customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure machines are loaded efficiently, maintaining customer delivery dates.
- Maintain daily tracking of all live work orders.
- Produce monthly/weekly forward loading schedules for each machine, including manual operations.
- Ensure parts are moved to next processes promptly.
- Allocate subcontract order requirements for purchasing in a timely manner.
- Keep Bill of Materials (BOM) up to date, with accurate set and cycle times.
- Maintain accurate stock levels of raw materials and finished goods, issuing them correctly to works orders.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies where opportunities are identified.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO 13485).
- Identify and troubleshoot production bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
- Monitor and report on KPIs and production performance.
- Recommend methods or process improvements to enhance product quality.
- Prioritize workflow to meet monthly order completion and sales targets.
- Raise purchase requisitions for subcontract operations.
- Complete administrative tasks within SAGE200/Preactor.
- Coordinate with other departments and handle requests for information and data.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Production Planner in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (Essential).
- Experience with lean manufacturing and process optimisation (Desirable).
- Hands-on problem-solving skills focused on efficiency and quality control.
- Excellent computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- SAGE 200 experience desirable, but training will be provided.
