Production Planner Job Description

This established manufacturer of engineered products, serving a multisector customer base, is investing in its supply chain due to increased business and a solid long-term order book. Consequently, there is now an opportunity for an experienced Production Planner to join their team at the Colne, Lancashire site.

Reporting to the Planning Manager, key responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining order book integrity for planned start and completion dates.
2. Producing a working production plan with up to three months visibility.
3. Collaborating with the Production Manager to create, develop, and measure KPIs.
4. Utilising the existing SAP system to maximise efficiencies.
5. Understanding capacity constraints within the factory.
6. Ensuring that daily, weekly, and monthly schedules are accurate and up to date.
7. Communicating changes in demand effectively.

The successful candidate will:

1. Have production planning experience within a manufacturing environment.
2. Possess strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
3. Ideally have SAP experience.
4. Be a proactive planner with good problem-solving skills.
5. Be an excellent communicator.
