Job summary

ACO Technologies plc in Shefford is seeking a Production Operator to join our Polymer Concrete production team. This hands-on role involves operating production machinery, preparing moulds, stacking finished products, and recording production data.

You'll work a rotating shift pattern, enjoy full training provided, and have a path to build new technical and production skills within a supportive team environment. Overtime may be available and a night shift premium applies for night hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery and extrusion equipment to fill moulds.
• Prepare moulds by lubricating, closing, opening and cleaning between runs.
• Stack finished products onto pallets and secure loads for transport.
• Carry out routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
• Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Complete production records and documentation accurately.
• Use computer systems to record production and quality information.
• Support routine technical activities, including calibration checks.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping in the production area.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.

No previous experience in polymer concrete is required as full training will be provided.What you'll be doingAs a Production Operator, you'll be involved in a range of manufacturing activities, including:Operating production machinery and extrusion equipment to fill moulds.Preparing moulds by lubricating, closing, opening and cleaning them between production runs.Stacking finished products onto pallets and securing loads for safe transportation.Carrying out routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.Inspecting products to ensure they meet our quality standards.Completing production records and documentation accurately.Using computer systems to record production and quality information.Supporting routine technical activities, including calibration checks.Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards across the production area.Following all company Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.What we're looking forWe'd like to hear from you if you:Enjoy practical, hands-on work.Are physically fit and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.Work well as part of a team while also taking responsibility for your own tasks.Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.Can follow procedures and maintain high standards of quality and safety.Have basic computer skills.Working hoursThis role operates on a rotating shift pattern of:6:00am – 2:00pm2:00pm – 10:00pmYou may occasionally be required to work night shifts:10:00pm – 6:00am (Monday to Friday)A night shift premium of one-third additional pay is paid for all hours worked on nights.The role is based on a 37.5-hour working week, Monday to Friday.
