Responsibilities

• Produce accurately cut leather, hides and synthetic components following patterns and specifications.
• Select, inspect and prepare materials, assess quality and optimise cutting layouts.
• Maintain production quality and efficiency, complete in-process checks and meet daily targets.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely, perform routine checks and follow PPE and 5S standards.
• Support continuous improvement and collaborate to improve production flow and standards.

As our Production Operator - Cutting, you'll be part of the UK MIE Factory team working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into Factory Team Leader. You'll be right at the heart of fast-moving projects that shape how we show up for our consumers - today and tomorrow.

WHERE YOU CONTRIBUTE

As a Production Operator in our Cutting Room, you will play an important role in transforming premium leather and synthetic materials into high-quality footwear components with accuracy, consistency and care.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in high standards, works with close attention to detail and is motivated to deliver consistent results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working as part of the wider production team, you will follow specifications and standard work, maintain quality standards, support daily output requirements and help ensure materials are used effectively throughout the cutting process.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

As our Production Operator - Cutting, you will be responsible for:

• Producing accurately cut leather, hides and synthetic components, following patterns, markers and specifications while maintaining high standards of precision, consistency and product quality.
• Selecting, inspecting and preparing materials for production, assessing quality, characteristics and defects to optimise cutting layouts, minimise waste and ensure components are correctly identified and ready for the next stage.
• Maintaining production quality and efficiency, completing in-process checks, pair matching, traceability records and meeting daily production targets while supporting right-first-time delivery.
• Operating and maintaining equipment safely, carrying out routine checks, reporting issues promptly and following health and safety, PPE and 5S standards to maintain a safe and organised working environment.
• Supporting continuous improvement and effective teamwork, communicating material or quality concerns, contributing to process improvements and working collaboratively to improve production flow, efficiency and standards.

KEY SKILLS & CAPABILITIES

Put simply, the key things we're looking for are:

• Previous manufacturing or production experience, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while following established processes and meeting production requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus, with the ability to accurately follow patterns, specifications and standard work instructions to deliver consistent results.
• A reliable and motivated approach, demonstrating the ability to maintain focus, achieve targets and take ownership of tasks while working independently.
• Strong teamwork and safety mindset, contributing positively to the production environment, supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards of workplace organisation and safety.
• Desirable technical knowledge, including experience with digital cutting equipment (e.g. Comelz), footwear or leather manufacturing knowledge, and an understanding of yield optimisation.
