Forterra - Newbury (Thermalite) in Thatcham, West Berkshire, United Kingdom is seeking a Production Operative to efficiently run production plant and equipment in a busy block production environment. You will be trained across batching, manufacturing, and packaging processes to deliver quality products for housing and commercial markets.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to quality systems, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety for yourself and others.
• Adhere to site health & safety management systems.
• Report health and safety concerns to your line manager.
• Follow risk assessments and safe systems of work for each task / process.
• Ensure PPE issued is kept and maintained in good condition.
• Ensure guarding is correctly fitted and report defective equipment.
• Obtain a permit to work for high-risk tasks e.g. working at height, confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Operate and control production plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Train across production processes including batching, block manufacture, and packaging.
• Maintain clean, tidy and safe work environment; manage workload and work as part of a team or independently.
• Complete process control sheets daily and report quality concerns to line management.
