Job summary

Sumitomo Electric U.K. Power Cables Ltd. is recruiting Production Operators for our new cable manufacturing facility at Port of Nigg, Highland. After training, you will work across the production process in line with SOPs, Health & Safety, and quality standards.

The role covers setup, operation, maintenance, data recording and shift handovers. We seek individuals with English/Maths basics, proven production experience and a strong safety mindset. Full training will be provided.

Qualifications

Standard Grade English and Maths (or equivalent).
Proven production experience.
Experience with Health, Safety, Quality and Environment requirements.
Evidence of high work standards and commitment to quality.
Commitment to safety and to maintaining a safe working environment.
Ability to work to quality/process improvement efficiencies.
Ability to work well in a team and build relationships.

Responsibilities

Assist, set up, operate and close down production equipment to meet the production plan.
Perform basic maintenance of production process equipment.
Maintain housekeeping to minimise hazards and accidents.
Record process data for analysis and quality audits.
Carry out tests/inspections and identify nonconforming outputs.
Ensure safety procedures are applied during manufacturing processes.
Participate in quality and process improvements to maximise efficiency.
Handover between shifts with colleagues.
Trained to operate forklift and overhead cranes.
