Production Operator - Job Description

Our client is a leading manufacturer of resins and polymers serving various industries worldwide. They are seeking a Production Operator to join their Weekday Night team. The ideal candidate will have a background in chemical manufacturing, be familiar with sampling and product testing, understand chemical processes, and be based locally to Wigan.

This position is exclusively night shift. Please only apply if you are willing to work from 6pm to 6am, Monday to Thursday.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure all batch processes and operational activities comply with HSEQ standards.
2. Manufacture products according to formulation batch sheets and specifications.
3. Make accurate process additions or adjustments.
4. Respond promptly to corrective and preventative actions.
5. Monitor raw material requirements and notify supervisors when products are ready for packaging.
6. Participate in design and hazard reviews.

Requirements

• Experience in a chemical process role.
• Experience on a COMAH site is advantageous.
• Understanding of chemical processes.
• Knowledge of sampling and product testing.
• Ability to troubleshoot production equipment and processes.
• Experience operating forklift trucks.
• NVQ Level 2 in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is desirable.
• Valid forklift license (reach or counterbalance).
• Living within a commutable distance of Wigan.

Remuneration

• £14.50 per hour.
• Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 6am (48-hour week).
• 28 days holiday including public holidays.
• BUPA health insurance.
• Pension scheme.
